The Kingdom of Esperance is a local chapter of the national organization of The Adrian Empire inc. The Adrian Empire is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and recreation of Western European culture between the years of 1066 and 1603. Its time period begins with the Battle of Hastings (the Norman conquest of England) and ends with the death of Queen Elisabeth I. This span of years encompasses the Early Middle Ages as well as the early Renaissance period.
If you have ever watched a movie, read a book or studied history and suddenly found yourself yearning to dress up as King Richard the Lionheart, Sir William Wallace, Joan of Arc, William Shakespeare or Catherine de Medici then this is the group for you.
Members work to recreate "the best parts" of history. There seems to be something for everyone in Esperance.

Maybe you have always wanted to be a knight or a master swordsman. Adria is primarily a live steel combat organization where combat is non-choreographed. What you see, is what you get.
In Esperance monthly tournaments include shinai, rapier, and armored combat (“Live-Steel”)!
If missile weapons are more your thing, then you can always try your skills at archery. There is target archery as well as a safe form of combat archery.

Of, course if you are more of a lover than a fighter, you can always try you hand at the many different arts and skills of this era. Members are more than happy to help you become skilled in such crafts as leatherworking, chainmaille making, costuming, stained glass work, brewing, the culinary arts and much more.

Please feel free to visit a renaissance faire or a monthly Adrian event to get a taste.

Adrians hold live demonstrations for schools and other organizations in an effort to teach people about the historical time period. If you are interested in having Adria attend your event, please feel free to contact the Warden, Hospitaler or our King.
